K&N Panel Filter - Re-oil BOTH sides? -Or just the Bottom?
What are your opinions on this? The K&N directions don't say.
I'm concerned about over-oiling & causing problems with my MAF sensor, which is why I'm leaning toward Re-Oiling just the bottom (upstream) side of the panel.
When you Re-oil a cone Pop-charger filter, you only spray the outside, right? Should be the same idea for the panel, no?
Thanks in advance,

I just oil the outside on my CAI. If you have time, I would oil it up and let it sit overnight on paper towels.

Thanks. I'm not going to be able to let it sit overnight, but will shoot for a couple hours. K&N recommends allowing it to air-dry 20 mins., before element is re-installed.

Well there really is no inside or outside if you look at the way the cotton mesh just follows the ridges on the metal cone. So I would spray on the outside - a light coat of oil, just enough to it will be red. Let is sit and soak for a little bit and let the excess oil drain off before reinstalling.

Just one side as everyone said. AND use a light coat. If there is oil draining off the filter, you REALLY overoiled the filter. To spray on the oil, spray as if using a spray can. Spray ONE light coat. Wait for 10 min and then spritz on any areas that are still "white".
