Does anyone out there have pics of their max's running 225/50/15's on their stock 6.5" rims. I am looking to purchase new tires and am looking to see what i can run on the stock GLE rims. I did a search and found a few people runnin the size but no pics. Thanks, Brian

225 is way too wide for the stock rims.....i'd stick with 205 or 215

Maybe for GXE rims, but they fit fine on SE rims....

That size tire would fit on the wheel but it would be quite a bit too small in diameter which would make the wheelgap huge if you are not lowered. Even if you are lowered it would still look kind of weird.

The car would be quicker though...

I think you're confused. People that upgrade to 225/50 are doing it on 16 inch SE rims, not 15s.

The only real upgrade for 15s is to go to 215/60-15, which came on the 95-96 SE.

As far as messing up your comp, uhh yeah, all it would do is throw off the ODO and Speedo in a bad way. 225/55-16 are the best size, its what im getting

Yeah you would have to replace the gear in the speedo if you changed the overall diameter. Stick to something that is close to stock and avoid the headache.

Don't change your floor mats, wiper blades, lug nuts, rims..

...because their dimensions and weight will throw of your ECU.
BS...

I will tell you the size...
because I've tried many others (people will post "what they think" based on rumors and lies...BS to the speedo off by 00.023457..yes it will be slightly off... you won't feel it off... or be able to calculate it while driving).

225/50 16s on 16x6.5 or 16x7 were the best.

I have tried:

205/65 15 Dunlop A2...at the track STILL HAVE EM.
205/65 15 RE 92s...traction sucks..ebay..sold to the camry
215/55 16 Yokohama (stock crap)..."disposal fee paid"
225/50 16 Dunlop A2..looks NASCAR fat..and handles great..STILL HAVE
225/45 17 Kumoho Supras 712...awesome price...out of round?=refund.
235/40 18 Pole Position SO2...heavy..hey cuz..want 2buy 4tires?
245/40 18 Dunlop Sport SP9000s...fat..."home page" STILL HAVE EM.

note: I did not try them on civics or corollas.

2. I talked to a guy from tirerack.com, he said that best you can do is 225/55/16 for my '98 SE he said 225/50s wouldnt work cause it would mess up the odometer which would in turn mess up my cars computer.

IS THIS BS???
1.
2. I used to run 225/50s and it was just fine on my 16" se rims. Dont see what would be wrong with that..

tire rack told me the same thing, but also said that you would have to run them at max psi because of the load rating or some ****.... i bought 225/50-16 anyways and have been very happy running them at 40psi

im not quite sure exactly what size the rims are but one pair of tires is 225-50 and the other is 215-50

so either way it seems that they arent the right size
