Muffler Install

I'm looking to get a Stillen Muffler. How easy of an install is it for someone that is not mechanically inclined? I'm looking for a nice deep sound. Also, How wide is the tip?
I tried the seach, but couldn't get help.

$tillen is very easy to install since it bolts on, and has the hangars already attached. it is fairly loud apparently, and it is a pretty good consensus that the same quality can be had MUCH cheaper.

oh, and you can find more by searching!

I dont know what what year you have, but i have a 95 w/ a stillen muffler. just 2 bolts to do, and thats it really. you wont get a deep sound from it, its more like a humming sound (cand be annoying, especially with auto) and the tip i believe is 110mm.

A humming sound? I thought it gave a deep growl. What better muffler are there out there that will give a nice deep sound and add horsepower, without being ricey or too annoying?

Try something along the lines of flowmaster/powertech/magnaflow...

Those should produce a deep sound. I have a powertech muffler on my max. You can check out my homepage for pics.

Peace.

Re: Muffler Install

I wanted a deep purr, so I stayed away from the rice mufflers and went with a Dynomax Super Turbo. I believe it is made in the USA and it sounds great. I just put a standard stainless tip with rolled edges on it. Does not draw visual attention, but sounds deep and costs well under $100.

however, my intake overpowers the sound of the muffler by far! plus the y pipe will help with the exhaust note once i install that this week. Maybe you will consider the stillen a deep sound, but to me deep is a V8 sound, like on a muscle car....

I've got the Apexi World Sport Exhaust. Very nice piece of equipment. All it takes is four bolts to install and hang it on the existing hangar. On a scale of 1-10 (10 is hardest), this job is a two.
