new clutch what the hell this is not normal!!! help !!! not happy with setup up

ok guys i put about 300 miles on my clutch (ACT Street clutch) and i still get this really bad bucking only in low RPMs. but if i rise the RPM at like 2,000 or higher it doesn't do it. is thier a special way to put the flywheel on??? so its balance or something casue its not getting any better. casue its only with i let the clutch grab (like off a red light) after that its fine HELP!!

Hmm, it seems either people get clutch chatter with the ACT or they don't. I had clutch chatter for about 1500 miles before it finally went away. Upgrading your motor mounts or poly filling them will help alot! Good luck.

sit there and burn ure clutch for a long period of time... maybe that will help... ( i still think u need more miles for break-in because that's what my cousin told me when he upgraded the clutch).

Mine did the same thing and eventually went away. What I found to help was tapping the gas slightly before I let the clutch out (in 1st). I would get the engine around 1800 and let off the gas and let the clutch out - the shudder wasn't as noticable. After 1000 miles and a trip to the track my clutch felt better than stock. Give it some time it takes some getting used to.

Take it easy on the clutch... at least for a little longer...

A lot of it has to getting accustomed to the new pedal effort. It's much harder to launch smoothly with a high performance clutch. Plus the stiff pedal seems to get better after a several hundred miles.

After reading Sprint's summations from ACT clutch issues I think when I get a new clutch, no matter what it is, I'm going to take that as the time to replace my motor mounts - just because.

I just ordered my ACT too!
Whats this motor mounts thing?
Is it expensive?
Should I get it done when I get my clutch installed or give it some time?

i got mine from sx7r... so you can ither buy a set from Cattman... Place Racing mounts... but they cause vibration at low idle.. or have a member do it.. or poly them yourself

After reading that thread and recalling a few others, I want to ask the mount guys if their oem mounts were torn or in bad shape at all. As in, if you replaced the mounts w/brand new OEMs, do you think the clutch chatter woulda been reduced as with the poly mounts?

I just installed my ACT last week (also resurfaced fly). I also get this weird vibration w/low rpm engamements into 1st. After driving 500 miles, it's 1/2 gone. And just like you, if I raise RPM to 1200, I don't get that weird vibration. All stock mounts are 1/2 dead...I wanna poly them, but dunno what's a good poly to use.

Vibration doesn't bother me...I've experienced this in my 93 Maxima with OEM clutch.

BTW, I get into 1st gear w/o any gas. If I'm on a hill, I blip the gas, but never hold it as I let the clutch out. Haven't had any problems yet, keeps the car quiet and the acceleration smooth. However, I tried this technique in my bro's 2k Max w/stock clutch and it doesn't work. They have an issue with fuel cutout in low rpm, so it forces me to stall. Argh!
