losing power @ 3rd gear

well... i actually jus finished painting my engine bay (blue + black, post pic later), i also painted my popcharger intake... but anywayZ today's driving was really ackward, usually my 3rd gear @ 3000rpm would output 60mph, but today it was only 52mph

the car is in regular condition, jus a normal driving in the afternoon, all warmed up... maybe i didn't tightened my intake when i rebolt? or maybe i'm runnin low on gas? (it was @ empty but the light wasn't on) someone tell me waz goin on?!?!?!?!

When Im in 3rd gear at 60 its at 4000 rpm????

yes...3rd should be 4000 rpms at 60 mph. 4th should be 80 mph at 4000 rpms. unless you're s/c'ed or turboed???

He never said which transmission he had...this would make a difference...

Was there anything unusual with the car when you were in Overdrive? (If you're not in overdrive at 60MPH then you have a bigger problem.) You should be pulling about 2200 RPM @60MPH in Overdrive when the torque converter has locked up. 3000RPM in Overdrive should be about 90MPH.
