Choke any way to make it work?
I was reading the manual on my wife's maxima and it stated that in extream cold and heat that you needed to hold the gas down to start the car. Is there any way to make the car coke itself (like my probe and any other car fuel injected car I have every owned)?

I know that much, but when the car is started when cold it still needs to stay in slightly higher revs for a few moments, so as not to kill itself. I guess it would be more of a ECU controled choke. How every in the owners manual it say once again that when starting in extreme cold and heat to hold the gas pedal down. Basicly chokeing the car by giving is more gas. Is there any way to "tell" the computer to do this? This is the only fuel injected car I have every had to do this with.

The ECU will keep it up in the higher revs for you automatically...extreme cold it should be around 1600 rpms then slowly drop while the car warms up to operating temp. they say to drive once it drops to 1000...then drive no past 3000 rpms till the needle goes to where its operating temp is, half way

As far as your car not running unless you go and give it gas...
You may want to run some fuel injector cleaner. Also, cleaning the TB should help to give you the result that you're looking for. Your car seems to have a problem getting the fuel that it needs on startup. Have you changed your fuel filter recently? This can cause a slow down in fuel delivery, which could cause a slow starting problem as your car needs a large amount of gas to start the same way that a carb. car needs to occasionaly be "pumped" before it will start. You may want to check those items first.

I don't know the previous service history of the car, being that my wife and I have just resently got married. Would the fuel filter usual be changed at 100K check up(done before we were married)? I will check the receipts to see if they replaced it. I will check the TB I did that on my Probe a while back and noticed a improvement. Thank you for the help.

But I'm still upset that in a hour of looking for a exhuast for the max I found more performance parts than I have every been able to find for my car. You guys should feel lucky. Howerver I don't think I will be able to talk my wife into doing too much to her car, she doesn't want it to be loud and other things of that nature.
