I am planning to buy an Automatic Infinity I30 97 Model here in Indonesia where i reside.I would appreciate if anyone out there could share their experiences with the car in regard to its reliability especially the cooling system and its automatic transmission as these two components are really going to get their rear end kicked especially in an unforgiving pathetic road conditions of Jakarta, Indonesia.Mikejakarta

 

I have had 3 97 Maximas and 1 97 Infiniti I30 and have never had any cooling system problems or Automatic Transmission problems. In my 5 speed Maxima I had to have the clutch replaced but it was done under warranty. I was responsible for the clutch problem, I drove that car really really hard. I was amazed Nissan fixed it under warranty. If you do proper maintenance on the cooling system and transmission they should hold up quite well. Overall the Maxima's and Infinitis hold up very well if proper maintenance procedures are followed. They are just very good cars!
