27.3 Mpg

Took a trip up to VT this weekend. Stopped to have lunch with Lime on my way home. Erica, thanks so much for the pit stop! It's always nice to see you. BTW - He's a keeper.

I kept it just under 80 and got 27.3 MPG. Car has 58K on it and I've never changed anything except the air filter. (K&N Pannel)

Yes I can. I get 34 on the highway and 23-24 in the city.
96 SE MEVI, B-Pipe, stock muffler, auto w/VB mod.

Oh yeah, cruise control set at 78 mph, 92,000 miles, and a non functioning knock sensor.

I haven't been on an "all highway" miles trip for a while but the last one I did, I averaged 31 MPG. But on my last tank, I averaged just under 28 MPG on mostly city driving. And we haven't been above 20 degrees in over a week. The 5-speed helps mileage immensely.

That's part of the many beautiful things about this car. I get between 23 and 34 mpg, usually an average of about 27, and my driving includes a lot of hills and some traffic. And that's after more than 161,000 miles.

I only got 29.99 MPG on last trip but was running anywhere from 78 to 95 MPH. Also drove about 70 miles on mountain roads. If you still have original plugs I think new NGK Laser Platinums would make a very noticable difference. Changed mine at 51 K and noticably improved performance and MPG. Only get 20 MPG in 100% in town rush hour traffic. I am quite satisfied. I plan on changing plugs at 40 K miles next time!

AWWWWWWWWWWW! ^_^
Tom, I get about 20 mpg most of the time because of my loooovely driving, and it's all local stuff. Stinks. Oh well. Hopefully the next car will be more.......adjustable. More to come on that tomorrow.

You must have one rare maxima, to get 23-24 city, 34 highway on a bad knock sensor. I can't even get that with the engine off coasting down a hill! When I had a bad knock sensor, I got 15mpg in the city, 21 on the highway. When I replaced it, I got around 20% increase in mileage.

Nice to know others are getting good gas mileage as well.

Just drove the Max down to Florida for vacation (~1200 miles).

Got 31MPG for most of the trip there and back. 85Mph+ all the way, Auto, 130K+ Miles, no mods, and NGK Plattys with about 50,000 on them.

Oh, and I had one passenger and a trunk full of two weeks of clothes and christmas presents. Not to mention the fun little hills through the mountains between Atlanta and Nashville on 24.

I was impressed.

Girl, you know if you'd stop going WOT to hear that intake and Y pipe roar so much (which is very cool ) maybe, just maybe you'd get some better gas mileage.

BTW - Next time can we take the 340 out?
