Quick question for those with HomeLink visor..

I bought a visor from a fellow member for my '96 months ago. However, right after I bought it, I moved from my rental, stayed at a friends for a month or so and then moved into my new house. Since the house is brand new, it didn't even have garage door openers. Well, I finally got around to installing the garage door openers and programming the visor.

Here's my question. I know, I am being ultra picky but I have to hold down the HomeLink button (vs. just pressing it) in order to get the door to open. Does this sound right? I have Liftmaster 1/2 H.P. openers if that matters.

Thanks.

I got a 13 year old Craftman (Sears) garage door opener and I gotta hold it down for a second or two as well.

i have to hold it a second or two for it to start opening, but then I can let it go. I do not need to hold it the whole time the door is opening.

I think it may be a safety feature. Just in-case you accidently press it moving the visor or something. That way the garage door does not come down by accident.

I have to hold mine down too.

Just until the garage door starts to go up, not through the whole cycle.

:o)

O.k., thanks guys. I'm convinced. I just wanted to make sure that it was working right. My thinking was that the actual remote openers that come with the garage doors only take a 'press' and not a 'hold' so why would the HomeLink? Lefty made a good point. Probably a safety issue. And no I didn't mean I have to hold it through the whole cycle. Thanks guys. I'm loving it. The range is awesome!
