500 mi ACT break in period???
About to go pick up my car with its new ACT street modified clutch...
I have heard about a 500 mile break in period and I planned on doing it but to what extent is my question. Do I have to baby the car for 500 miles or can I drive normal which is usually pretty quick and just make sure I am not racing it or anything????

You should baby it! Drive it nice and easy, and try and keep the RPM's down, NO RACING! That's the key to a good clutch break in. Make sure you account for freeway driving as well, since the 500 miles is supposed to be city driving. Enjoy your new clutch!

i would baby it for 500 miles and then drive it like 'regular' up to 1000 miles. no racing though, or spinning tires from 1-2 or 2-3. just take it easy a while.

Man, the first block was killer. The thing's a beast. But after 2 blocks, I was driving like it was nothing. Most of the chatter's gone after 1 week.
Maybe I rev-match very well...but seriously, if driven normally, you won't know you've got an ACT. you'll get used to the increased pedal weight in a day. Have no fear. If you regularly abuse your clutch, then yeah, baby it. I've done 1000 miles in 2 weeks and I love the clutch. I don't get any chatter unless I rev to 1000rpm. Haven't tried chirping the wheels, but I'm sure it could.
