I don't know much about Redline ATF, but I've been running Royal Purple ATF in mine for a year now without any problems. You may want to contact Redline to see if they have logged any problems with that type of ATF.

Were you having shifting problems before? I may be that the bands in the tranny are shot.

Were you using Redline ATF, or Redline D4 ATF? You should be using Redline D4 ATF. I think normal Redline ATF is Dextron IIE equivalent, which should work with Nissans, but the recommended manufacturers fluid is Dextron III, which Redline D4 conforms to.

I think you are using the wrong ATF then. Well, not really wrong, but it's not the recommended grade of ATF by Nissan. I'm not sure what the difference between Dextron IIE and Dextron III is, but you might want to try a drain and refill with normal ATF and see if your problem goes away before you spend the bucks on the shift kit.

If you want a shift kit for your car and believe that it will "fix" your problem then I think that,s a turn in the wrong direction. A shift kits main job is to make the tranny shift into each gear harder and quicker than what it used to do. If there are seals in the tranny that were damaged from the different fluid then the kit won,t make any difference. The seals are either FUBAR or changing the fluid may help fix your problem. Hope this helps.
