Engine Bay Ticking & Rough Idle..?

95 auto.
Engine Bay ticks (as thread below).
Engine Bay Has A "ticking" sound coming from about the Throttle Body.
Car Has A Rough Idle at about 400-500rpms and Lopes.
Ive done everthing except change all the O2 sensors, so whatta think?

Replaced: KS, TB Cleaned, ECTS, OPS, K&N Filter, Fuel Filter.

Any Ideas Guys? help is appreciated.

Mods:apex-i cat, budget y, urpd, k&n intake,

An IACV makes a ticking sound. You usually can't hear it with the engine running, but it's clearly audible with the ignition on and hood open.

Have you tried resetting the idle to spec? If not, the IACV may be constantly trying to correct the idle and is getting worn out, hence the louder ticking. If you have, and it still doesn't idle right, the valve itself may need to be cleaned or even replaced.

Is the ticking in rythem with engine idel speed? If so, sounds like a valve gone bad resulting in a weak cylinder.

if it goes away after a while (correct me if i'm wrong).. could it be the lifters?

Sounds like a sticky lifter to me. I've got the exact same problem. The only possible fix (short of cracking the engine) is to make sure your oil is reaching the lifters near the top of the block. Are you sure you have enough oil of the proper viscosity (i didn't)? Try an engine flush or anti-knock treatment. Is your system running at optimal pressure?

P.S- Apparently it is possible to install the larger oil pump from the 3.5L VQ as a direct bolt on. I am very interested in this idea.
