simple mods to automatic max

i did a search on this already but i couldn't find much info on this topic. if i install a stillen intake on an auto max, will i lose noticeable low end pull? also i was thinking about getting a budget y-pipe. with these 2 mods will my car be a lot louder during normal driving? i'm just afraid that my car will be a annoyingly loud and i'll lose low end power for normal driving in traffic. if anyone has experience with this, thanks in advance

you will gain power in the whole powerband intakes are what make you "lose" low end power....don't worry about it...y-pipes are great power gainers.....if you don't like noise just get a y-pipe and keep your stock muffler and cat....

Yes you will definately get power that will be better with you mods. I do not know about the budget y-pipe but the intake will make some noise when you rev your engine or excellerate FT. But at cruising it does not make that much noise.

I'm not sure why you didn't find a lot on the intake topic because there has been tons of conversations about this. If you get a midpipe for the pop charger, it will remove the "so called" drop in low end performance.

try to install the cone filter with the mid pipe and the y-pipe at the same time, then take a ride and tell use what you think.

the loudest part will be your cone filter at WOT.

whats a midpipe...is that the b-pipe? i'm thinking with the stock muffler on, the car should still be relatively quiet under normal acceleration and highway cruising.

A Midpipe is a pipe that replaces the resonator and tubing, which is the part between the throttle body and the MAF Sensor.

I'm not sure what comes with the Stillen intake, but I would think it should be in there. Its the part where all those rubber hoses hook up to.

I have a PR CAI, and it came with, I know Warpspeed CAI comes with it, and I believe Frankencar. I woul dhtink that Stillen with all their tuning and performance would include the midpipe.

The only thing that comes with the stillen intake is the cone filter, the metal bracket to hold it up and the metal round thing that attaches to the air flow sensor when you take off you airbox. It is really not that much and is easy to put on. However I changed to the Injen cold air intake for better power and it looks a lot cleaner !!! Plus you get to take out everything out thats the black nasty plastic !!

Check out www.frankencar.com very cool guys, and a trully superior product. Just for clarification ...the mid-pipe is not the b-pipe (rear piece of exhaust system)...the mid-pipe the after market part that is cylindrical and you attach the aftermarket cone filter onto. This Intake system is improving the current "Box" Intake system that you currently have. Frankencar sells Apexi, and K&N Filters...both very good.

With the stillen intake alone, you will prolly lose little low end(if you add a midpipe it will help low end),but the gain on the combo(stillen intake and budget y-pipe)will be bad a@@.If you keep your stock catback, the sound won't be that much louder than stock at cruising but very loud at WOT.
