Should I get a CAI ???

I just got my 198 Max lowered and put 18's on it, I have a system already, I was looking to add a little pep to my car...I would like it to be a little quicker, and maybe a little deeper sound...I was looking at the Place Racing Cold Air intake on Custommaxima.com....What are the pros and cons of the intake, is the hi flow cat a better way to go ??? I'm on a very limited budget so its one or the other....Cant really go over 200 $....I could spend 400 but I wanted to get my windows re-tinted becasue they are purple from the last person who owned the car.... Thanks for the advice...

If you are going to do a Y-Pipe get the Budget for $160 delivered. T-304 Stainless Steel and a much better buy than the Wrapspeed.

Check out the BOMZ CAI on the group buys for $65 shipped. Its a Place Racing Rip Off but its Aluminum vs steel and a super buy.

There you go $225 for both. Best deal of the Century.

What are the pros and cons of having aluminum or steel?

Aluminum is lighter and faster heat dissipation.

Wouldnt it be better to have more heat to the exhaust? I always thought more hotter =better flow?

I just installed my Injen Intake and it is great! I use to have a HAI and when I floored it straight out the RPM would jump to 3500 RPM or so and then go. Now when I stop it I find immediate responce! It is great, and it has a good sound too, Y pipes are good too

This is an intake we are talking about heat is not good.

Also the good thing about the PR and the BOMZ is that you can use it either as a CAI or Hybrid with no additional parts.

If you go with the Bomz CAI I would recommend replacing the crap filter they include with it with a real K&N. It should run ~$40 so for $100 or so you will have a CAI as good as the place racing and have the option of running it as a hybrid.
