Ebay CAI's?

I'm looking to go for the first mod in my 99 maxima GXE...I am thinking of going with either of these intakes on ebay...can you guys tell me your opinions of them and which one do you think is better. Eventually I will replace their filter with a big mouth K&N 8" or something.

Also I have installed a CAI on my mystique, however never on a maxima. Do maximas have MAF's? I don't think they do, but if they do where do you connect them to in one of these setups (sorry im a newbie).

They do have a MAF. As for the installation of the CAI it is very easy just do a search and there is a website that will give you pictures and instructions.

go ahead and laugh buddy...I love my mystique. It is an auto and probably is runnin around 16 flat to low 15's with mods. Granted I love my maxima too, but my max will never handle the twisties the way my mystique does. The contour/mystique aftermarket is growing, and their are so pretty quick contiques out there. Anyways I did not come on this site to get flammed on. Oh yeah buddy, being 19 and owning 2 cars from brand new (99 maxima GXE and 99 Mystique LS) plus a 2000 Honda CBR 600 F4 Yellow/black brand new as well as a 1981 Yamaha XS 650 street tracker I think im fine with a great handling and very fun car. I have more speed than any car out there can give me anyhow. I am a maxima owner, and I asked a simple question.

So for the non flamming maxima owners out there can any of you tell me your opinions on these intakes, and how they compare to the much more expensive injen?

Does anyone own these ebay intakes? your thoughts are valued and very much appreciated.

I just typed a post and the board ate it so here I go again.

The CAIs on ebay with the yellow coplers are made by Bomz I belive. There was a group deal on the org for the Bomz CAI for $65 shipped reently and I have not seen any complaints. I am not sure who makes the other CAI, the seller told me it was not Bomz. As far as I know the Bomz is the same as the Place Racing except for the cheap filter. Most org members use a hybrid style intake, replace the resonator with a straight pipe and use a cone filter. With a CAI you would have the option of running it as a hybrid. I currently have a hybrid intake but would like to try a real CAI. My hybrid intake - http://images.cardomain.com/installs...73_19_full.jpg

The Bomz/Place racing style CAI requires you cut a hole in your fender while the injen style stays under the hood. I don't know where you find cold air under the hood

It seems there has been quite a bit of intrest in CAIs latly, maybe we can get another group deal going on the Bomz/

the second and third ones look like imitation Injen's.

The injen filter sits right above the fender splashguard. It is actually kinda below the engine, in a position where it can suck up cold air, but where water getting in the filter isn't a problem.

Well the last one is Injen style, I emailed the seller --
Who makes this intake? Does it require cutting a hole in the fender or is it the under hood style?
And his response, with classic ebay grammer -
xoxoparts
no cutting are require it's under the hood
