Problem after UDP install

I've installed a light crank pulley and now when I turn my car on the
E-brake light stays on and the battery light stays on. I even reset the ECU to hope it would go away and it hasn't. Does anybody know why this is happening? If you can help, I'd much appreciate it. It doesn't make any sense at all because I didn't tamper with either of those 2 things.

Did your belt squeek?Check your alt belt tension and see if it's tighten problably.

uhmmm...that's really weird. You didn't touch the cables or anything while you were down there did you? Didn't touch any sensors? How did you do the install?

I followed the procedures for taking the belts off. Pulled off the pulley put on the new one. Put the belts back on. Tightened them to as close as I could tell as they were before. Started my car and the lights just stay on. My car drives fine but that isn't cool. Maybe I'll check to see if the cables somehow got loosened, but I never touched any of that. And the E-brake is in the back of the car, how could that be affected?

Maybe its not from the ebrake but from the brake system.

I think it's more likely that he prolly accidently knock a wire loose or something on the alternator for the battery light to come on.Make sure that the plug on the alt is plug in all the way in.Good luck.

check the tension on teh alternator belt (and check its connections too)

on 3rd gens, ebrake light + battery light = alternator so I'd guess it's probably similar for 4th gen

be careful, if your alt. isn't working, you wont get very far until your battery dies

Yup, if your alternator is not functioning properly, you will get a brake light on as well. I'd start looking in that area, maybe you knocked something loose or damaged something?

That's what it was the alternator belt wasn't tight enough. It wasn't a big deal. Almost drained my battery though. I'm glad I figured it out.
