Okay, this is a sop story, so bear with me. I'm coming down Braddock Rd. with my mom, and suddenly as I'm shifting into 3rd gear, *Oh, no* I realize, my "service engine" light came on. I had taken it about 3-4 weeks ago to a friend of mine (mechanic) and he did a ECU check and he said the computer checker thing labled it (gas fumes escaping) or something wrong with the piping. He reset it and said if it comes on again, to see him about it. So I'm goin to see him tommorow. The second part, like 2 min after I realized the light comes on, I'm in front of GMU, and the cars in left lane (my lane) aren't moving, the cars in the right are whizzing by. I start braking (in 5th gear at about 55) and I realize that these cars aren't going to move. I panic, and slam pressure on the brakes. My brakes grip, and my tires start squeeling as I kind of slide to a stop right behind the car. I should have just pulled into the right lane and gone, but I panicked. As soon as I stop, the cars in front of me start going. I was so ****ed that I passed them all in the right lane, honking and yelling at them. I almost fed myself into them, and I don't even know why they were stopped. The light was green and I expected them to be going. I hate the drivers around here (except for Max drivers ) cause most of these people dont know how to drive. Sorry its so long, had to vent. Just ****ed, thanks for listening.

 

dude i feel your pain about locking the brakes up. it happened to me b/c of some dumb **** in a civic, i could have pulled out my 4-way lug wrench and beat him and his car up

 

I was driving down a street here in Arizona the other day, and as I was coming down a hill, I was going about 60. Some dumbass in an SUV pulled out in front of me, and he was just kinda sitting in my lane. I locked up the brakes and blasted my horn, and I came about 2 feet from his bumer. Scared the **** outta me.

heheh....i did that once on the LIE. I came out of the midtown tunnel and got up to like 60. I noticed the cars in front of me were braking, but didn't think anything of it, because there's lane shifts and everything, so i tap my brakes a couple of times, just to slow down a little, until i realize that the cars aren't braking, they're stopped. Locked up the brakes and left a good 60 feet of rubber. Then i went home and changed my underwear.

 

Thanks for the sympathy guys, I still feel angry from my ECU light comin on and stuff. Getting it checked out tommorow, and s2cmpugh, I felt the same way, except most of the cars in front of me were soccer-mom vans. I swear, it was like a caravan of...caravans.
