I want more RPM

OK, I know I'm probably screwed, but just as a check I'll ask anyway.

I have a '99 Max, and thinking about an MEVI. It's a lot of dough so I want to make sure I really want it otherwise I'll just go FI. In my opinion, correct me if I'm wrong, to harness the full potential of the MEVI, one should have the higher redline of 7K or 7.2K. Otherwise it must be like smacking a wall when the limiter kicks in.

So my question is, is there anyway I could increase my redline. So far sounds like JWT cannot mod 97+ ECU's much less the '99's which I believe is different from the others. This also rules out a '96 ECU swap I believe (again correct me if I'm wrong)

Stand alone engine management is the only thing I can think of, and don't really want to take that route due to the obvious complexity.

How do those of you with the MEVI and stock limiter like the set-up?

Any possibilities?
