I think i paid 190 for removal plus application. Not sure if i got a good deal or not but im satisfied w/ the work they did. Be sure they dont mess up your defroster lines cause some shady places are notorious for doing that when removing old tint.

$150 isn't bad at all. around boston it seems the average price is around $200 or so. As long you know the shop does good work, i'd say go for it.

I got a quote out here in San Antonio for $125. That is limo in the back and I think 25 in the front plus removal of the old stuff. Guaranteed not to bubble or any of that plus will not damage my defroster.

make sure the material the installer uses is good.

3M or Madico are generally considered the best.

MD... we pay $99

We pay $99, but that is for a 5year warranty. That is the rate for any type of car, 2-door, 4-door or SUV. I have 35%(legal for MD) on my 99 SE-L with black leather. My husband put 20% on his 01 AE. We got pulled over on New Years for the tint and had to have it removed. It cost $60 at the same place for them to remove tint. Stefnee

Why would you pay someone to REMOVE tint? Not trying to be rude, honestly just wondering. I removed tint from my old car in like 2 min with a razor blade and windex.

I am actually in the market for tint myself, one thing to look for is one piece rear window, I think a 2 piece looks stupid.
Good luck,
Dan

Rear Window

was the main reason...I have seen too many people with illegal tint mess up thier rear window defroster when they attempt to remove time. The other reason.... I just did not want to do it.

Llumar is considered the best, 3m film is one of the better brands though(compared to regular dye film that is)

3M tint isn't the greatest... Unlike everything else 3M makes... Lumar, Sun Gard, and Solar Gard are top of the line. They use metallic flakes in the tint, and are guarenteed for life against fading. I work for tintmasters here in Fargo, and have to say that I am pretty educated on the subject. 3M uses a dyed film and after time will fade into purple. Not like the REALLY purple cars you see around town, but if you put a Sun Gard tinted car next to a car with 3M you can EASILY tell.

I am really surprised at how much you guys are paying for a tint job. Here we charge $175 for the rears on a car (everything behind the driver and pass windows, and $235 for everything but the windshield. We only do one piece back windows and remove all roll down windows from the car and tint them out of the car. Gives it a factory look and never see seems.

Just make sure when getting your windows tinted, you ask if the lifetime warranty is for any purple fading.

Yeah, we got a TintMaster here in New Mexico, probably isnt the same thing but those people are good people. I got my car washed and they used some crappy window stuff and it made the tint all blurry and stuff. Got it removed and replaced with new tint for $0.
