Need help with replaced windshield

Today, as I was wiping the salt off the windsheild at the gas station, I noticed that prior to me buying the car, the owner had replced the windshield It was not a genuine nissan windshield. (but that should not make a difference. At any rate, I noticed that the rubber liner at the base of the windshield which is held in by the plastic piece which serves as the air vent intake for the A/C etc, was seperated about one 1/8th of an inch 3/4 of the way towards the passenger side causeing the rubber liner not to fit snug in between the glass and the plastic assembly while it is tight on the drivers side, the tension lossens up the last quarter to the passenger side and then is tight again at the end of the passenger side. I am able to shift the plastic assembly with my hand on the passenger side and a little bit on the drivers side, but it much tighter. It looks like plastic assmebly will have to be taken off and reset for the rubber to be held in place the way it should.

1. Should I worry about this? Is it a safety issue?

2. How much would a collision or auto glass place charge me to resecure the piece? Whats a fair price? Thanks!

3. I dont believe the dealer is liable for this being that I bought my car used. Am I correct? Do you think the dealer can help?

RECOMENDATIONS?

Get some 2 part sealant or epoxy, some tape and try fixing it yourself. Use the tape to mask off where you dont want the goop...... Might be easier and save mula for a mod.
