What guage of wire for Fog Light rewire?

I've done extensive searches on this subject and have found at least 3 different write-up's on how to do this mod. However, every write-up I've read only specifies that I'll need approx. 3-ft of wire and says nothing of the guage of wire to use. For those that have done this mod - what's the general consensus? A quick reply or PM would be much appreciated. Thanks.

i used 14Ga, and it was like 3 times the thickness of the wire that was already there. almost 7 months, no problems tho.
