Broken Antenna.How Much To Replace

I Went through a car wash and the dam guy that drove my car in there forgot to turn my radio off, so the antenna was up the whole time. So the antenna broke, and now everytime i turn the radio on or off i hear the little motor running or trying to retract the antenna thats not really there. (I still get great radio reception) So if i go to nissan how much will it be to get a new one. Buy I dont think i need a new motor or anything becuse its still running, there just no antenna in there.

And if i were to do it, how do I even get to the antenna thing?
Thanx Guys.

My antenna also broke when my I went through a car wash. I got it replaced from my local Nissan dealership for $110CND, which is about $70USD. Too bad my deck broke, so I don't have any music when I drive around. I won't get it back for another week or two.

I did the same thing at the car wash. I had mine replaced at a Nissan dealership and I also think it was around $70.

If you just need a new mast, I'd try a junkyard first. Should be pretty cheap. And I think its a DIY job.

I have a problem with my antenna too, but it didn't break. It's just stuck half way out. I tried putting WD-40 but that ain't working. I haven't tried to force it down either, but I don't wanna break it. Could it be the cold weather or the 20 inches of snow we got yesterday??

Dealership wanted $200 to replace the whole thing. Got a whole new unit off ebay for $40 or so. Installed it myself, pretty simple job, just plug and play.

A new factory mast retail is $32 and can be replaced yourself fairly easily....the instruction should be in the forum somewhere....or buy a haynes manual....the drive assembly retails for closer to $170, and does not include the antenna.

I bought a factory antenna replacement mast for my car and since converted to a rigid antenna cause the drive assembly was screwed up....its yours if you want it...new, never used, $28 delivered to your door.

i bought a factory mast form the dealership for $50 and put it in the motor myself. The old broken antenna would not come out like the people at the dealership said it should so i had to take the motor apart, pull the old one out, and wind the new one up and put it in. Took about 20 min. and it was pretty simple.

Re: Broken Antenna. How Much To Replace

Same thing happened to me by accident about 3 yrs ago on my '98 Altima GLE, didn't even know I had the antenna still up at the time while going thru a car-wash. That was a costly $87 lesson I've learned to always keep the antenna down when entering a car wash

98Blaxima, Do you know which antenna you purchased on e-bay? It looks like one seller sells a herschman brand and the other sells a metra. I need to replace mine, I want to know which one you had good luck with.
Thanks
