Re: Alternator Questions

Any Nissan dealer can cross-check your VIN against the recall database. I have a 97SE and had a new alternator installed today at absolutely no charge. If you are the original owner, or at least are registered at Nissan as the current owner, you should have received a notice about the recall via USPS. You might also find this helpful: http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/problems/tsb/ I had a problem with a drippy power steering hose and when I mentioned the "Technical Service Bulletin", the dealer made the necessary slight adjustment (tightened a clamp) at no charge. As a "thank you", I let them change my oil for $19.95!
