I have a 96 max with a little over 56,000 on it, in pretty good shape, but for some reason when i start driving and reach about 40 mph the car makes a weird noise. the noise is there only when i press the gas pedal, if i let go, then no more noise, and if the car goes over 65 or 70 the noise also disapears, and the harder i press the gas pedal the louder the noise. The noise seems to be coming from the passanger side, either under the car or from the engine. It sounds kinda ****ty, like something is rattling but much worse, its hard to explain, and another thing when i take hard right or hit a bump while turning right i get another noise, like something is loose and its moving under the car, like its scraping something, but the noise is there only when i turn right, not left. any ideas guys?

also i just had a check engine light and it read that my vehicle speed sensor is broken, but after i reset the light/ the thing never came back on. so my thought regarding this whole things is maybe its the trans, like 2nd or 3rd gear considering it only mikes the noise in that speed range.

Have you had this car since BRAND NEW? A '96 max with that liitle of mileage is really rare. You might have a 150K mile+ dinosaur on your hands. Maybe whoever owned it before never took care of it...

Aaaaaa no i bought it used at around 30,000 on it in 97 or 98, i dont think it wouldve been 150+...it runs pretty good, so im kinda confused, and i dont have any major problems and never did, its just that this thing is ****ing me off. .....but dude u scared me

ok ...went to carfax got a report out of them and the milage is correct
