installing levoc shift ****

I just got a auto Levoc shift **** and I installed it but I didn't changed the little plastic adapter piece and when I try to take out my key from the ignition I can't. Can anyone tell me how you take that piece off to replace it with the other round adapter that came with the shifter? I didn't take my dash apart to install this. Was I suppose to in order to get at it?

you need to play with the adjustment up and down on the shaft until your key will come out you probably have the **** a tad to low or a tad too high just keeep working w/it until the key will come out...

re

so I don't need to put on the different plastic adapter to replace the other that was already on the car. That has nothing to do with it?

i think he is talking about the two cylinders that came with the shift ****. one was wood, and the other was aluminum. I installed mine just before winter started, so i really didn't try to mess with it that much. I just installed with the stock plastic piece at the end of the rod. the **** sits really high. this spring I'm gonna try to take the stock plastic off, and try both cylinders that came with the Levco to see which one works.

yes

I am talking about the 2 plastic cylinder pieces. DO you get the stock piece off. It shows that it screws off in the directions but it wouldn't screw off for me.
