I would stay away from those "fuel system cleaners"... and on another note, also "octane boosters"... They fools gold of the automotive industry and can be had by more affordable methods.

If you have been using premium fuel as the VQ requires then there's plenty of detergent in there to keep your fuel system clean... If your fuel system is dirty than either the fuel filter wasn't schedulely replace or you have a problem with the fuel system... either that or change gas stations... Chevrons or Mobils work for me.

I recently used Slick-50 Fuel System/injector leaner. I only used thois particular one because I had bought it for my truck but never used it, and had it sitting in my garage.
My mileage went from 24 to 30 on exact same travel route. My car runs a lot smoother, and faster. I also had a knock/ping that has been cured by the cleaner. The car was apparently running too lean, probably from dirty injectors (63K miles).

But, the owners manual recommends NOT to use fuel additive cleaners due to a coating on some fuel system parts that are there to prevent gunk build up. I felt I had no choice. Mine appeared to be gunked up and in need of a cleaning.
I bought my car used, and have no idea what type of gas the previous owner was using. I only use Chevron premium. Other brands get less mileage, and some cause pinging.

I use BG 44K and am pleased with the results. WWW.extrememotorsports.com sells it for $15 a can plus shipping.

Thanks for the reminder in Techron.
I used to use this about every other oil change in my S-10. Kept fuel system clean. Then I stopped using it. Got gunked throttle body.

I can't imagine why we should not use this in our Max's. It's in Chevron gasoline anyway. (But is it only in "Supreme" grade??)

I'll have to pick up some up.

you may laugh but I went to jiffy lube and they did the fuel system
cleaning for me and could feel the difference ran smoother.
Plus I went from 298 miles to the tank to 325 miles to the tank
They put somthing in the tank but they also hook somthing up to the
fuel injector itself.
With gas prices so bad I could use the extra gas milege

At the nissan dealer, they want $165 Canadian, to clean the fuel system, not cheap

How much did it cost to get fuel system cleaning at jiffy lube?

i went to jiffy lube few days ago. fuel system cleaner costed i think $50-60. i also did the engine flush/oil, tranny oil, coolant flush, and fuel filter replacement, everything was about $240-250. i don't know about the quality of the work, but they were quick. it took them less then 40 min. oh and nissan manual does not recommend using any fuel or engine oil addictives
