What do I need to look for?

Hey I'm looking at getting a max this week and i was hopeing that you all could help me out on what the most important thing or things to look for. It's a 96 SE, 5 speed it has 60,000 miles I'm hopeing to get it for around $3,000.00 - $3,500.00. It got wrecked and one of my buddy's pickeed it up for $600.00, and he is going to repaint it for me and everything, I havn't seen it yet but he drove it 400 miles to his house he has also had a compression test done and everything is good so far, also he went down a got a wheel alignment on it and nothing seemed to be bent. I hope someone can help me.

Thanks
Mike

i tihnk if the airbags an't pop and hit form front it wont be a big deal, cause frame should be solid if little damage was done. BUt anythings possible.

Where did your buddy pick up a maxima for that cheap? I'd love to pick up a "project car" for that cheap. If you could let me know how I could get a maxima for that cheap - I'd really appreciate it.

Bring it to a mechanic, if you are not very mechanically inclined/trained. Dont have a good mechanic hook up, get one..it will be valuable in the future. Anyways, have them look the whole car over for you....if you don't know them, they may charge you an hour rate..like $60...totally worth it. Frame Damage is a biggie that you want to have checked.
