i have one funny looking CV axle, can anyone explain?
I went and picked up my drivers side CV axle for my VLSD conversion that I am getting done tomorrow, and buy is this axle funny looking. Behind the spline that enters the diff there is some kinda 3 lobed weight looking gizmo, and then at the spline that goes in the spindle there is what looks like a large narrow gear. Neither of these were on my original axle. Can anyone explain this? maybe on has something to do with the LSD? maybe the other for ABS? If it is an ABS axle I can use it on a non-ABS car right? just not the other way around? If anyone can shed some light please get to shedding. I am haveing this installed tomorrow, and can not afford another day off work to wait on a different axle.
Any pics ??
They only BIG difference between a LSD axle and a Open Diff axel is that there is two sets of Splines on the LSD axle...instead of one on the open diff
