Ignition Coils
Easy to do...get a Haynes if you're unsure. It'll come in handy later down the road anyway.
On a side note...didn't the rough idle give it away that something was wrong? I have one coil going out and sometimes the idle will miss a beat...I couldn't imagine how bad it would be with all 6 bad.

That's all I get. A slight occasional miss at idle,no hard starting,bad accel.,etc.
I wonder if Dealer is replacing all as a preventive measure or the old Screw job...oops I didn't say that!!
Thanks.

When sitting at a traffic light I get a slight occasional blip/miss.
Oh hell, that's what I get. You might try changing your plugs I first started getting that problem when I changed to Bosch from the stock NGK's. I continued getting those same symptoms until I changed back to the NGK platinums. Now I don't know if I'm still having the problem or if it's me thinking it's doing it. Whichever it is, it's not anything like before.. I even asked the guy in service at the local dealer and he said had no recollection of needing to change the ignition coils. I had never heard of the problem with the coils until finding this site last week.

Have you checked you ECU codes? You should get a misfire code. If you have to change them out, it is really easy. The manual on my '95 shows how to change the spark plugs, so you probably don't even need a Haynes manual.
If you need new coils, I have a brand new one I need to sell.

FYI, the dealer usually recommends replacing all 6 coils at once, even if only one is bad. Some people on this board agree and some don't. It's entirely up to you. All 6 gets real expensive. Also, you can check the CEL (check engine light) codes yourself or you can go to most autoparts chain stores and they'll get the codes for you for free. If you decide to install them yourself it's real easy just make sure to hold on to the screws that hold the coils to the valve cover (they're small and hard to get a hold of, make sure you use a magnetic socket/screwdriver). I would shop around to get the best price - try Courtesy Nissan or maybe even a salvage yard. Good luck.
