I have installed the clear bumper lenses and would like to have the bumper lights (only the sides stay on) to stay on when I turn on my "park" lights, as well as the headlamps. I would also like for them to still blink when I use the turn signal. Is there a way to set this up?
I think this as been done but I don't know how. Until someone else comes along - maybe you could wire the power for the parking lights to the ground for the front bumper lights (cut it first). The power wire for the front bumper lights will act like a ground completeing the circut. But when there is power going to that wire (when your turn signal is on) it will no longer act like a ground so your turn signals will still work.
I have done this to my side markers so they blink when the turn signal is on.

get ahold of d_warner on this forum.
He says he's done a right up, but i've never looked and I don't know what he called it.
He gave me a basic run down. He changed the socket from an 1156 bulb socket to an 1157 so that he could power it to always be on and blink. He used the power from the little bulb for the dim lighting and then the power that originally went to the original socket for the blinking power.
Get with him and he'll give you the write up, i'm sure all i'm doing is confusing you, but it looks good.

Yeah, might be a good idea. I didn't do it, just had the lights turned off. If you do pull the battery for too long, you'll lose the presets on the radio and some things the computer had stored tho.Originally posted by maxnewbie

Ah, just keep the lights off while you make the splices. You;ll do fine. Its not brain surgery. You are replacing a single element bulb with a dual. The bright element in the 1157 will now light where and when the old one did, and the power from the sidemarkers will now light the dimmer 2nd one. If you do it right theres no danger of blowing anything. If you run overwattage bulbs anywhere, then this may cause a blown fuse, but from stock it worked great for me. Just mind your splices. Keep tape on all the bare wire, or use an auto parts "splice kit". It'll be fine.Originally posted by maxnewbie

Good luck, EM me if you get stuck or have a problem.

all the lights being on is a big improvement, especially if u have clears.hey guys, Jack has another write up in that link on how to wire your sidemarkers to blink. they blink alternately with the turn signal when the lights are on, and in sync when the lights are off. i did both mods ( turn signal staying on and blinking sidemarkers) and its bad a$$! youre my hero Jack

Thanks, but I can only take credit for the park lights mod, the side marker one is just a link to another page. I didn't write it. Originally posted by jkotel
