impressed a friend with the maxima

I was just getting off work last night and one of my buddies was looking at my car. He was asking if he could try driving it. well i trusted him and he has driven sticks for years. he said he has never even ridden in a maxima and he drives a nissan 240sx. i knew right then he was in for a treat So i was with him of course and he just lites them up through first and second. then he hit third and it just kept pulling and pulling. He said he couldn't beleive how much the car pulled in even 3rd!!! He also said that the only car that he has driven that comes close to my power was his friends turbo neon Needless to say he now wants a 5-speed Maxima and he has a new found respect for the Maxima.

hahaha im going from an auto 240 to a max se 5speed! should be getting the car tommorow! im looking forward to it, and its a world of difference. My bro has a 96 max and it compared to my 240 is no comparison, except for the handling, im sure gonna miss the handling of the 240, but i will love having a 5 spd thats fast

My roommate drives a 240sx and he loves my Max. His 240 is pretty modded but does not have the broad power range that the Max has. However, I like the fact that the 240 is RWD and handles great but in the straights, it's no match for its bigger brother the Maxima.

haha bigger brother huh? well the z in my book is the older sister and i'd take one of those over a 240 or max, but it's just not the best idea, need a four door, might as well stay in the nissan family! i love the 240 soooooooo much fun, so tossable, but its time for something a bit more powerful and more driveable, can't drive the damn 240 in the snow, not that its easy to drive anything in the snow, but still, RWD is nuts in the snow lol

You can buy turbo neons straight from Dodge, the SRT-4, its very fast actually, 0-60 is in the 5's. It's sad to know that stock neons can beat most of us now

^^^ but those neons r ghetto, and even if the new srt run mid 14s... remember it portrays itself as sporty neon, which is not NATURALLY ASPIRATED. Needless to say, the 2k2 can prolly give it a good run

Personally I could care less... All you have to do to beat them is to turbo your maxima... Plus, I bet the interiors and the reliability on those neons are ****... I dont think those engines will last as long, and if someone tries to swap out turbos on that engine, Im sure the little 4 cylindar will detonate!

But the point i am stating is that a cheap little car 20grand or less comes STOCK w/ the turbo and can take us. where as we have to turbo or sc it ourselves. So if a cheap neon is coming stock w/ 2-- something hp, then relating to price shouldnt a 30grand max have 300+hp? Sounds good to me! But in the mean time we'll have to go with aftermarket mods. Just beware if you pull up to one of those srt-4's, because they'll give you a good run!

I think the more important point is...

...who the **** would want a turbo Neon vs. a Maxima???

Instead of breaking down in three years, the Neon will break down
in one...PLUS, it's small...cheap materials...and it's a NEON!!!

end of story.

Dodge Plymouth Chrysler...whatever, are known for making reliable turbo'ed 4-cylinders.

but to get back on topic i took a friend of mine for a ride that has an '01 S-10 Xtreme with the 4.3 v6. I went around a turn nice and slow til the road got straight and just nailed it in first. His reaction, 'Dude, this car is FAST! This thing will definitely smoke my truck!' hahaha. i love it. and that was when I had zero mods.
