I have had this noise since I got my max in july 2002 and was wondering if I need some suspension work done or if its fine this way. I just notice most of the ime when everthing is quiet and I am turning its just a low creaking/clicking type of noise coming from the front.

Check your CV joints. The boots have probably broken open and the grease has been thrown out all over the inside of your wheels. Kiss the CV joint bye bye once the click click click starts to appear.

If thats the case, you need new outer joints or just pick up already rebuilt axels.

What he said. I had the same thing happen on my '91 max, and it turned out to be the cv joint.

If you hear the sound when turning the steering wheel and the car is moving then your CV-joints may be the problem, but if the sound is hear when turning the wheel with the car stopped your Strut Bearings are seized or shoted ! Strut Bearings are cheap (6.00 each/1 each side) but labor is expensive and you'll need to take apart the whole front strut to replace it.
