Stillen Kit: 3M Tape and Rivets and Screws

I'm installing my Body kit soon... just wanted to know the specs on installations...

What size 3M tape do I need and where do I put it on? (how wide does it need to be?)

Where do the rivets go?

How many screws should I screw on and where?

Thanx!

NOOOO.....I don't suggest using the white tape that comes with the kit. Every area that i used that tape came undone. Use 3M tape. It holds up much better.

Guys,

I used Rivets to put in my side skirts. Well, they've always caught in the door every now and then, no big deal really. But now I've noticed that some of the screws are getting close to rip outta the skirt! And the damn skirt has been getting caught up in my door, making everything worse.

What do I do.

4Th Gen Stillen Kit only requires screws...
Front Lip: 3 screws, 1 in the middle front, 2 on each side in the fender well
Side Skirts: 5-6 screws all along and into the wells if u can get them there.
Rear Skirts: all underneath about 4-5 screws for each rear skirt

I am positive my kit will NEVER fall off and its the flushest looking kit i've seen aside from others on the board, because i have seen kits that look warped because of the rivits.

are you talking about the screws in teh ends of the side skirt?

just remove the old scres and redrill them in a different location. (might look poopy, but it will fix your problem.. and use some washers next time

and use 3m 2 sided tape (OEM MOLDING approved) on the side skirts middle sections..

I don't know about you all, but even without using the 3M Tape on the top of the side skirts, my damn doors still shut on the side-skirt. And, considering that the body-kit pieces are black underneath, and my car is white, it doesn't look to good? Anyone have a fix????

I grinded down the inside(bottom side) of the section that the door hits with a Dremel. This made the skirt thinner in that area. The door stopped scraping, but be careful you don't grind through it.

Well, its funny that you say that because after the first time I had the kit painted and it was hitting then, I sanded down the top portion of the side skirts to prevent this lol. The driver's side is doing pretty well, but the right side is horrible. Oh well, when I have the front bumper, front spoiler, and rear spoiler re-painted, I will have them do the side skirt again......

That's the + side of grinding the bottom....no need to repaint it! It will be hidden

If you want it really SOLID on there...

use the GRAY 3M tape that holds up to 5lbs. Front Lip

The one that everyone uses is the white 2lb 3M tape.
