Hey, I was wondering what website(s) online would be the best to purchase a set of springs from for a 1996 SE. I want to drop my car about 1.25 inches.

...And to 'Doug' (if you are reading this): What happen to the last post with like 60 responses that you posted in reference to my sig?

Thanks in advance for all the advice and help.

I ordered my H&R springs for my 96 SE from TireRack: http://www.tirerack.com. H&R claims a drop of 1.4" in the front and 1.3" in the rear. It's more like 1.5" in the front and 1.3" in the rear. TireRack also carries Eibach. For Intrax or ST, go to http://www.tires.com.

I don't know if they have the best deal but my purchase was hassle free. I got my springs in two days for $10 freight.

How hard are they to install?

Did you do it yourself or have a shop do it?

How much did you pay for your springs? I went to the site and it didn't post prices. Also, why do people lower the car more in the front than in the rear?

Tire Rack has the H&R for $214, plus $10.90 for shipping. I actually installed them last Friday. Spent about 5 hours installing them myself.

I do have a question for those who have H&R with stock shocks. My rear shocks are at two different heights. The passenger side is about 1/2" lower than the driver side (26.5" from ground to edge of fender vs. 27", with 225/50/16 wheels). I thought it was going to "settle" after a week but it did not. I just finished taking them apart and put them back on. I made sure they are installed correctly but still one side is taller than the other. 1/2" is probably not that noticeable but it just gets to me. The car has 100,000 miles and the shocks are original. I wish I had measured the heights BEFORE so I'd know if it's the shocks that are causing this.

Any comments?

They weren't hard to install if you have the right tools. I spent about five hours installing them.
