OBX catback...

I have been reading lately about this new exhaust system from OBX exhaust. I want a system that is loud only at WOT. I don't want to sound like some of these redneck trucks around here.

I still want to remain as a 'sleeper' like the max is known for. Would the OBX system be a good choice? Where is everyone buying it from? I heard about a group deal earlier, but I think I have missed it. Can I still get it at a fairly cheap price? Also, what is this about it hanging down too low?

Thanks!!!

OBX is not bad, why not try A'pexi WS? sounds nearly stock durin regular driving... at WOT sounds deep and loud, although the b-pipe is only 2.25" piping rather than 2.5" compares to the others =( but the muffler is 2.5" and 4" tip. it gives u approx. 7-12HP, if u have intake and y-pipe u'll get a bit more. pricing are $430 average... try www.racinglab.com they sell them.

$$ wise, i totally recomend the obx. It has a deep groan to it, not a weed wacker sound. It is pretty quiet too. www.ssautochrome.com is the guy that had the group buy. If you can find it somewhere else it might not be a bad idea, cause a lot of people (not me) got theirs and it had 2.25" piping, not 2.5"

I'm not flaming you but where did you here that the Apexi gives a 7-12 hp gain? A catback will give you at most 2-3 hp. If you get a y-pipe with the catback, you will get about 15-20hp. Anywho, I have the Apexi and I think it is a higher quality product than the OBX. If you team it up with the y-pipe, it makes a deep exhaust note that makes any ricer 4-banger sh*t in his pants.

The reason I bought the OBX was because it was $258 to my door, Quiet, 2 1/2" all the way back, Mandral bent, and the Big one--> its SS

I think the exhaust is really quiet even with my y-pipe but I could just be tolerant for the noise..I love it and I hope it even sounds more bada*s when I put my test pipe on

The one thing I did notice is that its sounds deep all the way through the power band and doenst get drownded out by the intake. I do feel more power up top due to the 2 1/2 pipeing, its explained better as smoother revs kinda up top

I was just on racinglab.com and the A'pexi WS catback says that it only fits on 94-96 Maximas? I have a 97, so it won't fit I thought that all 4th gens had the same exhaust setup. Please explain.

Thanks,

I think I read in a past forum that the 97-99's are an inch or two longer than the 95-96's
