Airbag light, please read
I removed and replaced my seats but when I put them back in and hooked up the under seat wires, now the airbad warning light in the dash keeps flashing red. Does that mean the airbags wont work when needed in a crash? Does it mean I have to reset something to stop the flashing light? Does it mean there is a loose connection in the wiring? I dont know if its the left or right seat since I disconnected and reconnected the wiring in both seats. How can I diagnose or fix this?
Get in the car and shut the door. Insert the key and turn it to ACC so the lights on the dash light up, but do not start the car. Open the car door and push the door light button on the frame 7-10 times in 5 seconds. Turn the key to off and shut the door. Start the car. The light should go off. If this fails, try it again. It took me a few times before it worked. Sometimes the connectors under the seat loosen. Push them back together and give it another try.
