i would say if you take it to body shop they diffinitly could fit it with some custom work to it. but it might look funky.

only the outters will fit, the inner trunk ones will not, nor will either match the contours in the 95/96 trunk lid

Exactly!

In order to get red/clears on a 95/96 you have to be one lucky SOB like I happen to be and a few others on this forum and stumble across a set of all clear tails.

If you REALLY wanna change to the 97-99 style, you have to change all of your tails, your trunk, and your bumper.

from what i hear, you can take the 97-99 trunk lid and outer lights to make a 97-99 conversion in the rear.

From what everyone else around here has been saying, I didn't realize the bumper had to be switched as well.

I'm getting a new trunk lid within a month (rust has developed around two spoiler feet). I was going to buy the 97-99 trunk lid, pick up the 97-99 inner tailights at a junkyard, and order the red/clears outer from custommaxima. How awkward would leaving the 96 bumper on the car with 97-99 trunk lid?

I don't know for sure. Because of the fact that I've got my own set of red/clears, I don't want to do the 97-99 conversion, but I think I read here that you had to change the bumper as well because of the fact that the trunk lid didn't line up with it right.
