Velocity stack

It is basically a funnel that is supposed to smooth the air going into the intake tubing allowing more air to enter. Here is the velocity stack MAF adapter on my car --
And here is the one on the JWT pop charger --

how much is a maf adaptor coupled with a velocity stack, and does it actually improve sound, and performance at all? fot the moment, i just am looking for som sound with a tiny amount of performance, and i have next to NO money

I just typed a very long detailed response and my computer locked up and it was lost (again). I am not in the mood to do it again so I will give a shorter resopnse this time.
Some feel the velocity stack helps, some think it does nothing. It is agreed that replacing the resonator with a midpipe deepens the intake tone and helps performance. If you don't think the velocity stack will hepp you can get an intake kit from frankencar (~$130). If you want a velocity stack go with the JWT pop (~$120) or the RVM racing velocity stack Maf adapter and K&N filter combo ~$65. With the JWT pop and RVM racing intakes you will still have to buy an intake tube (~$50) or make your own (less than $15 for parts) if you want one.

Midpipe -- http://www.rvmracing.com/product.asp?0=275&1=281&3=212
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...&category=6764 -- I would not put this crap filter on my car but it is dirt cheap. It says 87-94 but I belive the 95-99 are the same.
Edit - I just stumbled onto this one on ebay, maf adapter and K&N filter for $50 - http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33621

So does this set up work then?
If someone got the RVM racing velocity stack MAF adapter and K&N combo for $65, then paired it with the Frankencar midpipe $60, how would it compare to the Frankencar midpipe and K&N combo for $130? Is that one for $130 just the same but missing a velocity stack? Will they combine w/out problems?
