Hybrid Intake Question

Today I installed my Stillen pop charger into my 99. I used the upper portion of my PRCAI, in place of the velocity stack. The filter sits in the same exact place as it did when I had the pop charger installed originally, so the only difference is the PR pipe vs. the velocity stack. I was even able to use the bracket that comes with the Stillen intake that bolts onto the MAF.

Q1 Which is better, the velocity stack or the PR tube?

Q2 Is this really a hybrid intake, or did I miss something?

Do you mean you replaced the resonator with the PR upper? I think the velocity stack is built into the filter, did you use the MAF adapter that came with the CAI or just bolt the filter onto the MAF?

the velocity stack is the way that the filter connects to the maf. If you want mid to high end power you use the PR tube, if you want high end power you use the velocity stack.

btw - yes, that is a real hybrid intake, the upper pr tube with the filter

To be honest, no I did not notice much of a difference, if any at all by using the upper tube. It just looks better I guess, seems to be all it's doing for me. Sounds a little better too maybe.
