After waiting for a long time for Apexi WS cat-back....I could not wait no more, so i jumped in on a great deal and bought the OBX cat-back...I had it installed today at Maximum Tuning.

I was very pleased. I expected the cat-back to be much louder then it really was. I was looking for a cat-back which wasn't loud, like the apexi ws. During idle time, you can barely hear the exhaust...but as soon as you press on the gas you get this really deep low tone.

The only thing that I'd have to say was negative about the OBX is the fitment issues....the muffler itself was hanging down on a slight slant...and the tip wasn't dead centered. Jeff was able to get the tip to the center by using a crow bar and adjusting the things holding the muffler up.

Other than that, its a great cat-back, Stainless STeel never looked better....gives an aggressive look from the back as well as sound. When you reach a certain high RPM range, the intake took over the sound ... so if you're looking for a not so loud exhaust this is a good choice.

Agreed! Actually, I agree with the whole statement. It's a decent cat-back for the money

 

what do you think of the Greddy EVO catback, im looking into getting one

 

Greddy ONLY makes the SP catback for the 95-99 max's, Evo is for the 5th gen guys. I myself have the SP catback and love it. The muffler and the tip are alot more suited for the maxima than the OBX IMHO. The OBX tip looks too small comin out the back, not to mention the fittment issues people are having with these things. My Greddy was installed on my car in less than 20min. So that alone should speak for fittment and quality of the product.

Don't lie Ant, you thought the OBX looked great on my car when you saw it. The tip is only .5" smaller...

Not all of us can luck out like you and get a Greddy SP for such a cheap price

it takes me 20 minutes alone to jack my car up, throw on the jackstands, and shake the car to hell to make sure it wont fall on me!!

if u go OBX i would definitely get a dealership to install it. In most cases if not all, it will be hanging too low and whatnot. For the price OBX is the best, and to those that said greddy is loud as hell, the Greddy catback (atleast MaximaRider's) is not loud at all. It has a nice growl and very similar in sound to the OBX.

i want the greddy catback, but its just to expensive for me right now, but i love how it sounds. would it be wiser to take the catback to my dealer rather than a shop?

 

Why the he11 would you take it to a dealership? Just go to a muffler shop.

 

for the price - nothing can beat it - definitely best bang for the buck

 

daymn, ur review on OBX makes me hesitate gettin my a'pexi WS now =/ but i know if i save up $100 more i can get a greddy SP... hehe no doubt about greddy's quality and performance, i'll jus have to wait longer tat's all

btw i don't like a'pexi N1, it's waaaaaaaaay too loud for me even with the silencer on >_<

I'm also a 97, so I'd prefer the OBX over apexi ws which was designed to fit the 95-96 years. I will try to take some pics of the exhuast & try to get some soundclips so you guys can actually hear it instead of just hearing other people's comments on it...Clive is going to help me adjust the muffler so that it doesn't sit on a slant anymore, he said he did it for his apexi...so even though the obx has some weird fitment issues...it can all be fixed/adjusted for the perfect dead center look. Car is in the body shop now...Will have it back next week....ill take sound clips then & post on this thread, or maybe create a spankin new one.
