Need some help w/ coil pack

It's the thing that goes on top of the spark plug. It has like a little spring inside of it. Ok, so my dad and I were changing my spark plugs since we haven't changed them at all. (bought the car in august, and it's a 97 se) I bought some NGK platinum spark plugs. And we pulled that thing off the first plug and it felt like it was stuck. So we carefully took it off and we noticed the spring inside was all stretched out and bent. We took off the rest off w/ no problem. Now my problem is the one that has the bent and stretched out doesn't properly fit on the spark plug. Right now it's just sittin in the garage and i'm wondering if you guys think i should get that replaced or what? And if someone could kindly tell me what it is called?
thx in advance.

They're called coil packs. It's been mentioned that they've fused to the tops of plugs before all though I don't recall what causes that to happen. You'll probably need to get it replaced. On a side note, we don't have distributors.

So should i just put it on, go back to my apart. and go to the dealership and have them replace it? I mean will everything be ok if i drive it? Right now we are tryin to straightin out the spring. Do you know what it will run me money wise? once again thx

brand new coil packs are pretty expensive...around US$80 each (approx)
if the connection still runs power to the spark plug, then its okay for temporary use. if not, then you will have misfire all the time. might wanna try and get a used one,

Whatever you do, DO NOT, i repeat, DO NOT let the dealer touch your car...Buy the pack(s), and swap em yourself...If you can change your spark plugs, you can obviously change the packs yourself....make sure all the coil pack left over is out (i.e., try to take out the spark plug)...if you can, just swap the packs and be done with it...If you can't get it, apply some glue to the end of the socket wrench, and leave it there for a few minutes, and pull it all out....then just swap the packs like normal.

yea i didn't mean to say go to the dealership. But instead i'll probably go to napa or checkers and get the part. They are called coil packs right? There's only one that is messed up. The car is running good right now and I'm gonna head back home. So thx for the replys
