Cali-Spec.. hope?

Cali-Spec.. hope?
Is there anyhope for us cali-spec owners?
I have an idea, going to look into it some more, but basicially it involves splicing the wires off of the main cat sensors and and returning the correct voltage to the ECU. (Finally using my CmpEE degree)
This would eliminate the need for both pre-cats AND extra sensors.
The only problems I see with this is that, your engine *WILL* think its running in perfect order.
If anyone has any literature OR if anyone else has tried this... please direct me.
Thanks,
Tac

I think the issue is with the after pre cat o2 sensors. The Cali Spec models also monitor the condition of the pre cats. A fed spec Y pipe will fit onto a cali spec car, the only thing you'd have to do is reloacte both after pre cat o2 sensors to after the main cat. That will trick the ECU into thinking it sees the after pre cat readings from the main cat.
I don't know if anybody has tried this yet, but it sure sounds like it should work.
Has anybody asked Budget if they have finalized the cali spec Y pipe? I know as of around November they told me by the end of Feb or March of 2003 they should have something.
