They are gonna blow in about a month, my 100W ones did. Don't try them, trust me. I went back to stock bulbs.

Same problem with me. I tried 70 or 80 watt xenon bulbs, two different pairs, they blew or broke. I just put back the normal 55 watts bulbs in.. I wouldn't waste the money

100 W = ~1 week-1 month
85 W = 6 months-1 year
55 W = 2 years and still working =)

I have been using 100watts since may and they are fine. I wonder if the brand makes any difference?

I used 100W APC lights, and they blew. Those darn overwattage bulbs just get too hot in the small fog lamp enclosures, I belive that's what did it. And the one I had that didn't blow out, it was really really cloudy. They ran too hot.

I use PIAA Superwhite Platinum, in the stock fog light. I'm petty sure they're 85w. They run perfectly. I will agree that the lens does get really really hot though. Other than that I've not had a problem with them. As those of you that have been to the Seattle meets will know that they are damn bright! They've been in there for about a year now.

So what bulbs should I use, I don't want to stay with stock, wouldn't match my other lights. What about Yellow ones, any recommendations?

95-96 maxima's have GLASS stock fog lights
97-99 maxima's have PLASTIC stock fog lights
therefore: if you have the glass you can pretty much use any wattage fog bulb. Im running 85 watt Piaa Super whites in my 96 and they have lasted me over a year now. I had the Hella Yellow Star 85watts too, but i got sick of them. I say if you have a 97-99 stick with 55watt bulbs and play it safe and not risk melting or buring up you lenses.

As for brands stick with either PIAA or another name brand. APC and Eurolites IMHO are cheap and burn out way too soon.
