I'd like the same feedback -

I have a '95 manual that is on it's way out.

TIA

Also, if anyone knows where to track one down, I'd be very grateful for some leads. They seem to be hard to come by.

$900 - $1050 for this I30 in WI when I called a few weeks back]

8 more Max LSD's available for $850 -$1000 avail throughout the USA

Oh, and Elgin Super at the bottom of the list won't take less than $900.00. I've even tried throwing down $500 cash on the counter

The "t" model comes standard with the VSLD. The other models have optional VSLD, depening on the option package that came on the car. VSLD can be determined by the tranny code stamped on the firewall under the hood. If it ends in V then it has the limited slip.

Are there any differential bearings problems with the LSD tranny? Should you stay away from 95-97's like Maxima 5-speeds?

So if I was looking for one I would be better off with a 98-99 VLSD 5-Speed, correct?

In order to do the swap do I have to change my driveaxel and my transaxel or just the transaxel?
Thanks a lot!

The driver's side axle needs to be exchanged for a VLSD transmission driveaxle - everything else is the same.

Your question implies that a change was made by Nissan in model year '98-'99. Is this true? Do you have a source?

(Sorry if this is common knowledge - I cannot search)

I donated to the .org, but not enough to keep my search privleges from being revoked - gotta love that "second-class citizen" feel. Thanks maxima.org! -Talk about biting the hand that feeds you.

(Already emailed a polite inquiry to admin. - it went totally ignored. My favorite new phrase? "Regime Change". . .hmmmmmm)

So the driveaxel (passanger side) is the same on both tranny types? So how the hell does this tranny apply power to both wheels?
Sorry if this is a stupid question.

i am aware of the drive axle needing to be replaced and all of that...

i just have one simple question... would it be better to go for a 95-97 i30 VLSD transmission or the 98-99 one...

and for all those who have done a i30 transmission in their maxima's... what year i30 transmission did u use for your specific year maxima...

thanks again
