Nissan antifreeze

Alright. I know that we need phosphate free and silicone free ethylene glycol right. Now why does Nissan antifreeze cost 15-18 dollars. The Nissan parts rep told me that if you mix nissan and gm antifreeze, it'll eat up your engine. I was thinking about using some o'reilly $8 stuff.

By the way, can somebody post me a link to show me a pic for the antifreeze plugs on the engine block? Thanks.

The way many do it (including myself) is to do many drain/fills on the radiator. Removing the engine plugs is pretty difficult.

I also use Toyota Red Coolant since it's designed for extended drain intervals. I run it ~2 years. I think I paid $10 a gallon.

Yes, It is true that the GM (Long Life) antifreeze should not be mixed with ethylene glycol antifreeze and that would probably include Nissan's OEM antifreeze. In the long run I believe it will damage your engine.

Check out this link for a more detail discussion on the subject.
