Another spring question...

Its tough to find info these days w/o the search feature...anyways, I'm finally putting on my 18's next week and I need to lower my car. Cant afford struts right now so I just want to run some springs on my stock struts for a few months. Im trying to get a relatively close to stock ride that looks even on my 98 5spd. Any suggestions? I was thinking H&R, B+G, or Maxspeed. Which would ride the best on stock struts? Thanks

I don't think any lowering spring will work better with stock struts than another. Any spring you get, the struts will probably end up blowing out. Personally, I would try to wait a little longer and do the struts at the same time. Otherwise, you'll be doing twice the work.

Some people have... it is not like you will lose your struts in a week.

It is just more convenient to do them all at once.

The OEM struts and springs are designed to work together. Lowering springs will put more stress on your stockers.

for stock struts...h&r's are probably the best for ride/less damage to shocks than others from the smaller drop.

b+g seems to hang low at the rear, im going with progress, which is a bit lower at the front...i think that gives it a more aggressive stance.

Very little difference from the stock ride. Perhaps slightly firmer now. I'm happy with the MaxSpeeds. It got rid of the 4x4 look but did not compromise ground clearance while preserving the original ride quality. I'll keep an eye on the shock/struts for evidence of leaks and wear but I don't expect any problems.
