squeeking noise.. struts?

Hey guys,
just wanted to get your opinion on smth before going to the mechanic. Anyway, sometimes when I brake and sometimes when I just drive I hear this squeeking noise in the rear. Wonder if this might be struts or maybe smth else. BTW, the pads we just changed a couple of months back, so it's not the brakes.

Thanks

What kind of squeaking? Is it a continuous groaning noise, or an intermittant small squeak?

It might be a loose nut where your jackstand is. Mine was squeaking until i tightened up a nut back there.

torque all suspension bolts to spec and see if the squeaking disappears.

My front strut is making the noise.
Usually at low speeds.
The ribbed sleeve which covers the strut is ripped so the moving element is exposed. I guess dirt and water got in there and it squeaks.

If it's the same noise I get from my front struts I asked a guy at Midas and he said it was the fluid in the struts. I encounter the noise only in cold weather when I go over the speed bumbs at my complex. He said it basically has to warm up. I do not hear the noise during warm weather.

My 97 does the same thing (front) . The temp has to be within a specific range ( about 20-30 F) I thought it was the brakes as this started right after I checked the pads. I can't duplicate by jumping on the front bumper which I thought was odd.
