Booster Sensor by Hitatchi?!?!!
Booster Sensor by Hitatchi?!?!!
Quick question.... replaced the spark plugs yesterday as well as clean the throttle body.. We noticed something towards the front of the car under the hood.
Booster Sensor made by Hitatchi, and there another piece that we had no idea was it is or what it is attatched to. I cannot be that desriptive, but I am going to take a picture tomorrow night and then upload it to see if any of you have any Ideas. I bought this car used in October from a dealership in Watertown.
Any Ideas yet without seeing a picture first?
actually i was able to take a couple shots of it.. but the cam sucks... take a look though..

Hey,
I noticed you have a 99, and some of them are cali spec which come w/ a swirl valve. It's the canister that sits right where the lower intake manifold is. I think that booster has something to do w/ the vacuum that operates the swirl valve which is there for emission purposes. All those objects you outlined are a part of the vacuum system that operates the swirl valve and other misc. items. Try disconnecting the swirl valve so it stays open all the time instead of the 3krpm and on. I have mine disconnected for a while now and I think that it made a difference. I'm used to it now so I can't tell anymore. Just make sure you plug up the vacuum line and cover the swirl valve connecter. Otherwise you're going to get a check engine light. Now I take no responsibility for whatever happens to your car
Also, if you leave the valve disconnected for a while(6months) it will get stuck in that open position due to all that oil and gunk in the intake runners. As you go to connect the vacuum back, the valve won't open up all the time until you drive around w/the hose connected for a couple of days. No biggy.
