Gas Light

I recently noticed that when my gas tank is at "E", the ligght on the gauge does not come on. I know there is an old thread on diagnosing and solving this problem, anyone have any suggestions or the old thread by Daniel B. Martin.. Thank

Could it just be the bulb? Someone else would have to find you the link to the instructions to take apart the dash (I don't have much time at the moment), but there's just a regular incandescent bulb back there (I believe it's a weird size, like 74 or something). I don't think they are available at most parts stores, but I have an old gauge cluster with a bunch of them... I can send you one if you'd like.

I think the late fuel light is a 95/96 problem. I had a 95 and now I have a 99, and the light comes on in the 99 as soon as the needle gets to the E mark (not below). Sorry guys

3 gallons is 1/6 of the tank... how can the light come on when the needle is below E and still have 3 gallons left??

My fuel light comes on about when the gauge reads E. Typically I have about 1.5 gallons of gas remaining at this point, but I typically fill it up before it comes on.
