I just got a new 99 Max and installed a KN style air filter. When I floor the car, I get a loud clicking...

I'm pretty sure it didn't do that before I installed the filter.

At first I thought it was the metal edge of the filter banging on the engine bay, but I put some rubbery stuff on the metal but I still get that noise.

Anyone shed some light?

is it a drop-in replacement or cone filter?

 

It's a cone style filter. I used the adapter piece to replace my stock air box.
